N.8. Shoulder Internal Rotation MWM: Belt Assisted

MOBILISATION
Inferior glide of humerus on stabilized scapula through pull of mobilisation belt in cubital fossa
Adduction of humerus by pressure of practitioner’s abdomen on client’s elbow

MOVEMENT
Auto-assisted hand behind back through pull of mobilisation belt

INDICATIONS

  • Pain with, or restriction of, shoulder internal rotation hand behind back
  • Useful for smaller practitioners working with larger clients

NOTES

  • Place folded mobilisation belt tight into cubital fossa so that it does not block forearm elevation up back
  • Ensure scapular stabilizing hands force is directed cranio-medially not laterally (do not lever humerus out of glenoid fossa)
