End the tape on the midline below the umbilicus
Purpose
to sustain effect of anterior glide and/or anterior rotation of the innominate in relation to the sacrum
Indications
Pain or limitation of trunk, pelvis or hip movement improved by anterior glide or rotation
IMPORTANT information and notes:
- An assistant is needed, because the therapist has to apply the glide or rotation, while the other applies the tape
- Use two layers of tape, first layer without tension, second layer with tension
- The direction of the anterior glide and/or rotation of the innominate in relation to the sacrum can be varied to get the best result
- To avoid skin irritation use a commercial underwrap to protect the skin from friction and chafing.
- Use non-stretch sports tape (50 mm) with underwrap (to avoid skin reaction)
- Never leave the tape more than 48 hours
- If there is any irritation remove the tape immediately.
- Ensure that after taping the provocative movement is less painful and ROM is improved.
- Ensure NO PAIN, no discomfort
