G.21. Self Two Leg Rotation (Gate) technique

Self Rotation of legs and pelvis on stabilized thoraco-lumbar spine

Lumbar pain with, or restriction of, straight leg raise

– Ensure NO PAIN, no discomfort
 – Rotate knees toward side of SLR restriction
 – A cushion under the pelvis can be used at home to avoid painful contact with bed frame
 – May need to alter hip and lumbar flexion/extension to pass through the gate
 – Perform only three repetitions on day one and reassess
