G.2. Lumbar Flexion SNAG: Standing

MOBILISATION
Antero-cranial glide through spinous or one transverse process

MOVEMENT
Lumbar flexion in standing

INDICATIONS
Pain with, or restriction of, lumbar flexion in standing

NOTES

  • Use mobilisation belt to stabilize pelvis but not force posterior pelvic tilt
  • Vary vector of glide through range to track with the dynamic treatment plane
  • Have client slightly flex knees to relieve hamstring tension and hold bed for security
  • You might tape the acute lower dorsal and lumbar lesions after SNAGS to remind the patient
