G.12. Hip Flexion SMWLM: Prone Lying

MOBILISATION
Opposing medial glides of spinous processes through thumb pad pressures of sides of spinous processes  of adjacent lumbar vertebrae by two practitioners

MOVEMENT
Passive hip flexion with knee extension over side of the bed by third practitioner

INDICATIONS
Pain with, or restriction of, hip flexion in straight leg position related to lumbar dysfunction

NOTES

  • Firm mobilisation pressure may be required
  • Use foam padding for comfort
  • Perform only three repetitions on day one
