K.19. Knee tape to sustain proximal fibula dorsally after MWM

Start the tape on anterior aspect of fibula
End the tape just below on posterior aspect of tibia

to sustain effect of fibular glide dorsally after MWM

-Lateral knee pain in proximity of the head of fibula during knee flexion or extension
IMPORTANT information and notes:
  • Use two layers of tape for maximal effect 
  • If you make it worse, do the reverse: tape on posterior aspect of fibula to anterior aspect of tibia
  • To avoid skin irritation use a commercial underwrap to protect the skin from friction and chafing.
  • Use non-stretch sports tape (50 mm) with underwrap (to avoid skin reaction)  
  • Never leave the tape more than 48 hours
  • If there is any irritation remove the tape immediately.
  • Ensure that after taping the provocative movement is less painful and ROM is improved.
  • Ensure NO PAIN, no discomfort
